    OVERVIEW Under the direction of the Development of Philanthropic Relations, the general functions of the Development Coordinator is to support the executive leadership team of the Boys & Girls Clubs of East County, including the CEO, Director of Operations and Director of Philanthropic Relations. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of non-profit special event experience, enjoys taking on new tasks that comes their way, can work on multiple projects at once and has the social skills necessary to communicate effectively and professionally with employees, board members and donors. The hours of this position are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 12:30pm and as needed for fundraising events. The main duties of this position are to take place at the Boys & Girls Clubs of East County Administrative Offices (8820 Tamberly Way, Santee 92071). Employment is subject to clean background check, drug screening and tuberculosis test.
    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Accurately categorizes and inputs donor gifts and information into the database and processes appropriate gift acknowledgments and receipts • Accurately uses the donor database to run reports and extract donor information as directed by the Director of Philanthropic Relations • Manages daily administrative functions with work stationed at the front desk of the administrative office, meeting and greeting visitors, answering phones, ordering supplies, mail delivery and retrieval, filing bills, tax reports and payroll, maintaining admin office cleanliness and organization, and making and delivering bank deposits • Assists in soliciting, planning and coordinating fundraising events as directed by the Director of Philanthropic Relations • Assists with day-of coordination of fundraising events • Assists with donor stewardship as directed by the Director of Philanthropic Relations • Assists with board sanctioned events as directed by the CEO • Works in conjunction with the Director of Philanthropic Relations to create social media and email marketing campaigns • Takes photos and videos for marketing purposes as directed by the CEO and Director of Philanthropic Relations • Provides secretarial and clerical support to the CEO • Prepares conference room for meetings, including ordering and setting up food, preparing media and making meeting copies • Performs other duties as assigned

    EDUCATION /EXPERIENCE The Development Coordinator must possess the following:
    • A high school diploma
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in non-profit fundraising events
    • Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office 360 (Word, Excel, Power Point)
    • Experience using a data management system
    • Positive Attitude
    • Willingness to try new processes and systems
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with staff, board members, Club parents, donors, vendors and community members
    • Ability to represent oneself and the Boys & Girls Clubs of East County in a positive manner
    • Ability to work independently and efficiently on multiple projects at once with accuracy
    • Exceptional organizational skills
    • Ability to work in a small team environment
    • Valid CA driver’s license with maintenance of a safe driving record
    • Reliable transportation
