Night closures with one-way traffic control are planned on State Route 67 (SR-67) at the Dye Road/Highland Valley Road intersection Sunday through Thursday to install the new drainage culverts. The work will take place 7 p.m.-5 a.m., and flaggers will be present to direct motorists through the intersection. The lane closures will likely cause traffic delays so please allow additional travel time during the nighttime work hours. See the attached News Release for details.
Lane reductions in the construction zone and especially at Highland Valley Road have resulted in longer queues and travel times for commuters in the area. It may help to know that traffic flow is expected to improve in mid-March when crews open a second eastbound lane on Highland Valley Road.
Caltrans continues to monitor traffic signal operations at the intersections. Traffic Engineers were on site this week and determined that the traffic signal and vehicle detection were operating as intended. Fog or rainy conditions can affect vehicle detection at the intersection so please let me know if this happens.Thank you everyone for your continued patience and thank you for sharing project information with friends and neighbors.
